The Passport to MetroParks event aims to build community awareness of what our MetroParks have to offer and will highlight various MetroParks events, programs, and parks. Vendor Check In volunteers will monitor the entrance to the event, check in vendors, bands, and food trucks as they arrive, and move barricades to allow entrance for approved vendors.
Impact
Special Event volunteers serve a critical role in ensuring that each special event or large-scale program runs smoothly from set-up to teardown.
Tasks
- Stand at sawhorse barricades located on Monument Ave. and monitor the entrance to the event. Volunteers will be given a visibility vest to wear while on post.
- Check in vendors, bands, and food trucks, and move barricades to allow them onto the event footprint.
- Use the radio to communicate with event staff so that they can meet the vendors and give them further directions.
- Volunteers will need to move quickly while carrying the barricades to help keep traffic moving on Patterson. Sawhorse barricades are made of wood boards (approx. 10-20lbs).
