Ready to become an ongoing long-term or a short-term volunteer?
We've created this volunteer onboarding opportunity to help you get started!
Please click the blue RESPOND button to complete the volunteer onboarding qualifications - You may need to click this blue RESPOND button more than once to complete all of these qualifications:
1) Volunteer Profile- Please provide your phone number(s), mailing address, emergency contact information, and your birthdate.
2) Five Rivers MetroParks Volunteer Handbook Signature- Please review and sign the electronic waiver.
- Youth Volunteer Note: Volunteers under the age of 18 must also have a parent or guardian sign the electronic waiver. The site will ask you to provide your parent/guardian's email so that it can send a request to him/her/they for signature. Please let your parent/guardian know to look for this email.
3) Submit a background check with our partner, Sterling Volunteers- For volunteers 18 years of age or older. Please note the following:
- You will likely need to "RESPOND" to this opportunity a second time in order to begin the process to initiate your background check.
- We require background checks to ensure the safety of our visitor, volunteers, and staff for all long-term volunteers and most short-term volunteer opportunities.
- Background checks will need to be renewed every 3 years.
- Background Checks typically take a few hours but may take 3-5 business days to process and must be cleared before you will be able to respond to volunteer opportunities open to short-term or long-term volunteers. You will receive an email notification when your background check clears welcoming you to the team and letting you know that you can now begin responding to the volunteer opportunities you would most like to support.
This opportunity does not count as volunteer service, rather is part of becoming an ongoing long-term or a short-term volunteer with us.
If you need support with the background check process or any of the onboarding qualifications, please contact volunteer.services@metroparks.org or call #937-275-7275, or join us at an upcoming Volunteer Open House for in-person assistance. We're here to help you!
Sincerely,
