Who We Are

 

Volunteer Services strives to provide high-quality, meaningful volunteer opportunities that support the agency’s mission, inspiring residents throughout the Miami Valley to become citizen advocates of Five Rivers MetroParks.
Administrative volunteers work behind the scenes on a variety of clerical projects to ensure that our frontline staff and volunteers have all they need to provide high-quality parks, programs, and services.

Entry-level Volunteers are accepted with the goal of developing the skills listed. Some skills may require additional training and annual check-off. 

Volunteers with the following skills and interests may be a good fit for this position:

  • a strong attention to detail.
  • enjoy being in an office setting and supporting others.
  • love checking tasks off a to-do list.
  • clerical, computer, and customer service skills.
  • organization, file management, and record keeping. 
  • Volunteers looking for an indoor and ongoing, long-term volunteer opportunity!

What We Do

  • Perform various administrative duties in support of assigned area(s) operations
  • Assist with records management, organization, and filing
  • Enter data from source documents into the prescribed computer database, files, or forms
  • Make phone calls and use standard office equipment such as the copier and scanner
  • Scan and upload documents to electronic archives
  • Sort, organize and prepare materials for programs and events

*Note: Many of our Administrative volunteer opportunities are privately offered to qualified volunteers. Interested volunteers should complete and submit a Computer Skills Assessment now to be added to our pool of administrative volunteers.  As future project requests arise, these volunteers will be invited to join administrative projects that match their skill set.
