Those peaceful garden strolls at Aullwood don’t maintain themselves. This project focuses on refreshing the garden pathways that guide visitors through the grounds, helping ensure they stay smooth, sturdy, and welcoming for everyone who explores the gardens. Your support helps keep the experience enjoyable from the first step to the last.
Impact
Horticulture at Five Rivers MetroParks creates, maintains, and preserves green space and habitats for pollinators and native plants, as well as educates visitors on sustainable gardening practices and local food production. Gardening volunteers support the Horticulture and Outdoor Connections staff in a variety of gardening tasks.
Tasks
Under the supervision of the Staff Lead, volunteers will support and assist with the following tasks:
- re-graveling the garden pathways. Some volunteers will be shoveling gravel into buckets while others will be smoothing out the gravel using hard rakes as the staff hauls and pours out the gravel on the garden pathways.
