This session is designed to help you with your new Get Connected volunteer account. Get Connected is a volunteer management system that will allow volunteers to sign up for a volunteer shift, track volunteer hours, register for volunteer training, and more! Get Connected also allows staff to track and report the impact of volunteer service. Through Get Connected we can recruit new volunteers and manage volunteer records. By tracking volunteer engagement in one system, we can use important data to apply for grants and sponsorships that support the work our staff and volunteers do every day in our parks.
We recommend bringing your laptop or tablet (and power cord) and a pre-filled water bottle. If you don't have a laptop or tablet one can be provided for you.
For the safety of staff and volunteers, sessions are limited to 4 participants per 1-hour time slot and will adhere to the following COVID-19 safety guidelines:
- facial coverings are required indoors, regardless of vaccination status
- deep cleaning and sanitizing of shared workspaces, equipment, and hands will continue
- volunteers should be encouraged to monitor their health and stay home if feeling ill
- volunteers who are unvaccinated and receive a positive COVID-19 test result should notify Volunteer Services.
