Do you enjoy walking? Help promote the MetroParks while getting your daily exercise! Volunteers will be assigned a walking route of approved Downtown Dayton Businesses to deliver RiverScape events posters and promotional materials. Volunteers must schedule a time to pick up materials from the MetroParks main office, but the deliveries can take place any time during the dates of July 10 through July 21, noting that many of the businesses will not open until 11:00 am.
Impact
Ambassador volunteers offer excellent customer service and help build awareness of all the amenities that MetroParks offers to community members.
Tasks
- After responding to this opportunity, you will be contacted to schedule a time to pick up the instructions, walking route, and promotional materials at the MetroParks Main office.
- The route will list pre-approved businesses that invite us to hang posters and leave brochures in their facilities.
- Please bring something to help you carry the materials comfortably on your route, such as a backpack. Volunteers may also choose to take several trips back to their vehicle to lessen the number of materials carried at one time.
- Once inside the business, volunteers will ask for permission to hang posters using tape or pushpins provided.
Additional Information
- Volunteers can complete the task in one day, or over multiple days at their convenience in the date range provided.
- Volunteers must be comfortable walking, standing, and reaching. Volunteers must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
- The length of this task will vary but is estimated at 2.5 - 3.5 hours.
- The three routes include businesses near RiverScape, the Oregon District, and Brown Street.
- This is a Long-Term or Short-Term volunteer opportunity. Learn more about our Types of Service here.
