Help support other amazing volunteers and staff at The Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience by managing the hospitality tent. Hospitality Tent Support Volunteers will help coordinate meals, snacks, and beverages for event volunteers and staff, creating a relaxing break area for those giving their time to make this event a success.
Impact
Special Event volunteers serve a critical role in ensuring that each special event or large-scale program runs smoothly from set-up to tear-down. Hospitality Tent Support Volunteers help event staff and volunteers meet their food and hydration needs so they can spend their energy focused on running the activities for the park visitors.
Tasks
- Greet staff, volunteers, and select exhibitors as they arrive and assist with finding items as needed.
- Provide support for food service providers.
- Help keep the hospitality area neat and clean and the food and beverages replenished. Maintaining "clean as you go" processes that make the end of day clean ups faster and smoother.
- Monitor appropriate use of food services by eligible event staff, volunteers, and exhibitors.
- Answer questions about the event and Five Rivers MetroParks to the best of your ability.
- Provide good customer service.
- Assist with setting up and tearing down the hospitality area as needed.
Eligibility

Additional Notes
- Parking and Meeting Instructions: Parking is available for volunteers off Springfield Street. Volunteers should check in at Volunteer Central in the Bluegrass Shelter located directly across the footbridge by the lagoon. Please arrive 15 minutes early to park, check in, and get to your volunteer location.
- Cancellation: If you need to cancel a shift last minute or are running late, please contact the staff lead, Bernadette Whitworth at 937-276-7056.
- Environment and Physical Demands: Physical duties will include walking, bending, reaching and light lifting. As this program takes place outdoors, please be aware of outdoor exposure risks (i.e., sun, poison ivy, insects, etc.). including seasonal allergens (i.e., grass, pollen, bees, etc.). Volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle, sun protection, and bug spray.
- Dress: Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Reusable volunteer vests and event nametags will be provided for you onsite at volunteer check-in.
- Special Note: At end of your shift, please train your volunteer replacement. If there is not a replacement, please make contact with a MetroParks staff member or Volunteer Services. While there will be alcoholic drinks available at this event, volunteers should abstain until after they have completed their volunteer service. Also, even though this is a dog-friendly event, volunteers are asked to enjoy the event with their furry friends after they have completed volunteering.
