Description

Five Rivers MetroParks Wildlife ambassadors are rescued animals that are unable to be released into the wild. With the help of our program team and volunteers like you, our Wildlife Ambassador animals share the agency's conservation message with the public at a variety of programs, events, and community presentations.

Wildlife Ambassador Volunteers assist with the daily care of these animals at our Twin Valley Welcome Center including  cleaning animal enclosures, socializing, and providing them with fresh food and water. All new Wildlife Ambassador volunteers begin with animal care.

Training consists of a virtual training and an in-person shadow experience. Shadow experiences are offered throughout the year as needed. We have two scheduled shadow experience opportunities coming up in June: Sunday, June 5th from 2pm-3:30pm and Thursday, June 9th from 10am-11:30am. All shadow experiences will be held at the Twin Valley Welcome Center. An RSVP is required.

DO YOU QUALIFY? This opportunity is reserved for long-term volunteers, ages 18 and older, who have completed their onboarding qualifications including a background check, and have completed the Wildlife Ambassador Animal Care Virtual Training

If you are a new volunteer interested in becoming a Wildlife Ambassador Volunteer, please review the training page here to get started.

Please select the blue "Yes" button at the top right of the page to RSVP for this training on Sunday, June 5th from 2-3:30pm at the Twin Valley Welcome Center.
