This training opportunity is intended for active Woodworking Volunteers and Gardening Ambassadors.
Thank you for your interest in qualifying as a Five Rivers MetroParks UTV/Gator driver. Gators are used by Woodworking Volunteers and Gardening Ambassadors to assist with transporting tools, materials, plants, and other supplies throughout the park.
This in-person training and driving check-off will provide an overview of safe UTV/Gator operation, followed by hands-on practice and evaluation.
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?
This opportunity is open to active Woodworking Volunteers at Cox Arboretum and Gardening Ambassadors who:
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Have completed volunteer onboarding requirements, including a completed volunteer profile and signed Volunteer Handbook
- Have an eligible background check on file
- Successfully pass the MetroParks online motor vehicle screening
WHAT TO EXPECT & WHAT YOU'LL REVIEW
Before attending this training, volunteers must complete the required online training and quiz covering vehicle policies, safe UTV/Gator operation, and driving expectations.
This in-person session focuses on hands-on practice and driving evaluation. Participants must demonstrate safe vehicle operation and the ability to confidently operate a MetroParks UTV/Gator before being approved as a driver.
