THIS TRAINING IS INTENDED AS A REFRESHER FOR THOSE ALREADY TRAINED AND QUALIFIED AS WOODWORKERS.
Welcome, Woodworking at Cox Arboretum volunteer team!
Once trained and checked off on the safe operation of the woodworking equipment, alongside staff, volunteers use their skills and expertise to plan, strategize, and craft a variety of woodworking projects at Cox Arboretum MetroPark! All volunteers must complete the annual equipment review and online quizzes, and in-person demonstration of the safe operation of each piece of equipment (skills check-off). New volunteers must also shadow a current Woodworking volunteer during a regularly scheduled opportunity.
DO YOU QUALIFY? This training and opportunity are reserved for long-term volunteers who have completed their onboarding qualifications, have received an eligible background check (for volunteers 18 and older), AND have completed the online Woodworking at Cox Arboretum MetroPark Volunteer Training (see below). Learn more about our volunteer orientation and onboarding here.
