The Pony Ride Assistant Training is only open to qualified Barn Aide volunteers. For more information on how to get started as a Barn Aide, please visit our Carriage Hill Riding Center Volunteer Training page.
A pony ride is one of the quintessential childhood experiences and often one of a child's first equine experiences. Join our staff in making these memories great for these young riders as a Pony Ride Assistant!
Pony Ride volunteers assist staff in providing a safe, fun, and friendly pony ride experience for young riders ages ages 2 - 8 at the Carriage Hill Riding Center.
Volunteers hand-lead the ponies or act as a spotter while the children ride. Volunteers are the extra set of eyes, ears, and hands that ensure each participant has a safe and engaging experience.
For training, volunteers are asked to complete a virtual training and then attend an onsite training at the Carriage Hill Riding Center.
DO YOU QUALIFY? Volunteers ages 14 and up who have completed our long-term volunteer onboarding and have checked off this year as a Barn Aide volunteer. Still not sure if you qualify? contact volunteer.services@metroparks.org or give us a call at #937-275-7275 and ask to speak with a Volunteer Coordinator.
