Thank you for your interest in qualifying as a Five Rivers MetroParks vehicle driver. Volunteers operate equipment and vehicles as part of their service at various opportunities offered year-round including during weddings, garden tours, and special events, as well as for park maintenance and animal care needs year-round. An annual virtual and in-person training with check-off is required for all volunteers who operate our vehicles.
This in-person training and check-off will provide an onsite overview and demonstration of safe vehicle operation for UTV/Gators at the Carriage Hill Riding Center.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This opportunity will be especially helpful for volunteers looking to support the Carriage Hill Riding Center, but any qualified volunteers looking to update their gator driver qualification with us for the new year, are welcome to attend.
DO YOU QUALIFY? To be eligible to train as a vehicle driver, volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, complete the volunteer onboarding qualifications (Volunteer Profile, Volunteer Handbook Signature, and Emergency Contact), and pass our online background check.
Volunteers must complete the virtual vehicle training before coming onsite to complete the in-person training and check off. Visit our Volunteer Training Library to get started on the virtual training for:
Once you have completed this online training, please RSVP to attend this in-person training and check-off opportunity. Note: This training will NOT cover the TRAM. A separate training will be offered at Cox Arboretum MetroPark for those volunteers looking to qualify as TRAM drivers.
