Sustainability Tip: Be Water Wise at Home

It's the end of the summer, but it can be still hot and possibly quite dry. This is a great time to think about our use of water. While Ohio is a water-rich state, it is important to encourage a positive water ethic. By using less water, you can reduce the risk of environmental pollution and reduce the use of energy.

I have greatly enjoyed the parks and now that I am retired I feel I should show my appreciation by volunteering. I like working outside but I am also interested in reviving my textile arts skills, a lifelong interest for me."

At Five Rivers MetroParks, we're lucky to have dedicated staff who truly bring our mission to life. One standout is Jennifer Davit, our talented Horticulturist at Cox Arboretum MetroPark. Jennifer joined us in April 2023, starting with the Urban Zone before moving to Cox Arboretum in October. At Cox, she's inspired by the Pollinator Habitat, the Barbara Cox Center for Sustainable Horticulture, and the Maimon Memorial Garden, which focuses on edible landscaping.
