Volunteers are BACK!  We are so excited to see our volunteers out in the parks and supporting our programs.  Volunteer opportunities are continuously being added to our online sign-ups, so be sure to check online often. Beginning this August, we will be offering Service Saturdays, volunteer opportunities open to the public, and our long-term volunteers to sign up and help in our parks on typically the third Saturday of each month through October. Check out this month's Service Saturday offerings here:

In addition to these opportunities, Five Rivers MetroParks is partnering with the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission to support the 2021 Regional Trail Survey effort. Volunteers are needed Saturday, August 21st, and Wednesday, August 25th to help collect data from trail users at Eastwood, RiverScape, Taylorsville, and River Front Park in Miamisburg. This data helps the region better understand the value, importance, and impact of our local trails.

We are asking all volunteers to sign up for each volunteer opportunity they plan to serve so that we can better track and prepare for your service.

If you need help signing up for an opportunity, please feel free to contact Volunteer Services at volunteer.services@metroparks.org or #937-275-PARK. Any of our Volunteer Coordinators will be happy to help you get signed up.

The Dog Days of Summer are here, and we want to make sure you stay hydrated!  This is important at home, on vacation, or supporting a MetroParks volunteer opportunity.  We encourage everyone to remember to drink plenty of water, carry a water bottle with you, and when you are out at one of the volunteer opportunities in August, look for our volunteer hydration station.  We will have Gatorade, and Juicy Juice Pops available for volunteers as a hydration treat.  Volunteers who support various opportunities through the month of August will also be added to a drawing for some prizes.

In April, we celebrated the service of our many dedicated long-term volunteers with a special volunteer appreciation sign delivery and service pins for those who qualified.  Service pins recognized milestone hours of service from 25 hours to 1,000 hours. If you did not receive a service pin and you believe you qualified, or there was an issue with your pin, please contact volunteerservices@metroparks.org or #937-275-PARK.

Each day brings new discoveries, news oohs and aahs and new friendships throughout Five Rivers MetroParks.  We share a few words of wisdom from a bee … and thank all our volunteers for "creating a buzz and working together" with us to make our parks so special!
