Outreach Ambassador - Volunteer Training

Thank you for your interest in supporting Five Rivers MetroParks as an Outreach Ambassador. Outreach Ambassador volunteers help share information about MetroParks' programs, events, facilities, and more with the public at fairs and events throughout the year. MetroParks has so much to offer, and we need help sharing the news!
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE? This opportunity is open to individual long-term volunteers ages 18 and up, who have completed their volunteer onboarding qualifications (Volunteer Handbook Signature, Completed Volunteer Profile), and an eligible background check. Family volunteers with youth ages 9 and up may be considered. New to MetroParks volunteering? Click here to learn more about how to become a volunteer!
GET STARTED!
Step 1: Read the Outreach Ambassador volunteer training document.
Step 2: Complete and submit the Outreach Ambassador Training Quiz below:
Step 4: Complete an In-Person Outreach Ambassador Volunteer Training.
Once you have completed the steps above, you will be invited to attend an upcoming New Outreach Ambassador volunteer training. In-person trainings are offered annually. Visit the Training and Events page to view upcoming dates and RSVP.
Once you have completed both your online and in-person training, you will be eligible to sign up for Shadow Experience shifts for the Outreach Ambassador opportunity. During your in-person shadow experience, you will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn expectations of the role, practice and demonstrate required tasks, and get comfortable working alongside qualified volunteers and staff. Volunteers who check off will be eligible to support independent outreach opportunities.
Once your Outreach Ambassador qualifications are complete, you can begin signing up for opportunities!
Want to Branch Out?
Want to explore other ways to get involved? There are many volunteer opportunities across MetroParks that offer similar experiences, skills, or ways to make an impact.
Exploring multiple opportunities is a great way to stay involved, build new skills, and experience different parts of the parks!
