2nd Street Market Ambassador - Volunteer Training
Thank you for your interest in supporting the 2nd Street Market as an Ambassador. These volunteers enhance the visitor experience and help curate the Market’s unique, vibrant culture for our customers who then support our vendors in providing sustainable local food to the community. Volunteers welcome customers when they arrive and thank them as they leave, assist with wayfinding, answer basic questions about the market and the parks, distribute brochures, and conduct credit card sales of MetroParks merchandise.
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE? This opportunity is open to individual long-term volunteers ages 18 and up, who have completed their volunteer onboarding qualifications (Volunteer Handbook Signature, Completed Volunteer Profile), and an eligible background check. Step 1: Watch the SNAP Cashier Training Video below:
Step 2: Read the following volunteer training documents:
- 2nd Street Market SNAP Exchange Center Training
- Safe Credit Card Handling Procedures
- Market Point of Sale Instructions
- Acceptable Computer Use Agreement. You will be prompted to sign this when you respond to an opportunity.
Step 3: Complete and submit the SNAP Proficiency Quiz below:
Once your 2nd Street Market Ambassador qualifications are complete, you can begin signing up for opportunities! Staff will provide an overview at your first shift.
