"I want to complete an Eagle Scout Project or Gold Award Project for Five Rivers MetroParks"
Thank you for your interest in supporting Five Rivers MetroParks! It is our mission at the Five Rivers MetroParks to protect the region’s natural heritage and provide outdoor experiences that inspire a personal connection to nature. We couldn’t get nearly as much accomplished as we do without the support from driven community members, like yourself!
There are many opportunities for Scouts to earn the rank of Eagle Scout or achieve the Girl Scouts Gold Award in your MetroParks. Scouts can identify a variety of activities, including trail improvement projects, building projects, and habitat enhancement projects, and a Volunteer Coordinator will make every effort to match a Scout with their requested project.
A Scout that donates their time, skills, and talents through the means of a Scout Service Project is identified as a Short-Term volunteer with Five Rivers MetroParks. Short-term volunteers provide service to our parks, typically for a set period of time, to complete a specific assignment. These individuals volunteer for a variety of reasons including earning school credit, satisfying a program requirement, or completing a service project. Short-term volunteers are required to complete the online volunteer onboarding process and must adhere to our Volunteer Handbook.
To begin your onboarding process as a Short Term Volunteer and to see if Five Rivers MetroParks is the right fit for your Scout Service project, please complete the following first steps:
- Sign up for an account in our Get Connected system: Once you have submitted the Scout Service Project Request Form, click here to join the Scout Service Project User group. Submit the User Group questions at the bottom, and click the 'Join User Group' button below to be prompted to log in or create an account.
- Complete your Volunteer Profile: Once your account is set up, please select the 'Edit Profile' option and enter the information to complete your official volunteer profile.
- Scout Service Project Request Form: With the help of a parent or guardian, complete our Scout Service Project Request Form:
Once all three steps have been completed, a Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you for the next steps, typically within 1-2 weeks. If you have any questions, please contact Volunteer Services at volunteerservices@metroparks.org or call (937) 275-PARK to learn more.
