Historic Woodworker - Volunteer Training

Thank you for your interest in supporting the historic farm as a Historic Woodworker. Historic Woodworkers are Historic Interpreter volunteers who train and receive qualification through Five Rivers MetroParks' as an historic woodworker. These volunteers typically come to us with previous experience in carpentry or woodworking that they build on through our Historic Woodworker volunteer training to help bring the historic farm to life for our many visitors throughout the year at Carriage Hill MetroPark.

Historic Woodworker volunteer training consists of a virtual training and in-person Shadow Experiences at the Carriage Hill Historic Farm where you will learn to safely demonstrate and interpret woodworking in the 19th century.  Historic Woodworkers must complete the Historic Interpreter training before beginning their Historic Woodworker training. To view the Historic Interpreter training, click here.

Historic Woodworker volunteers will be required to complete an annual check off of safe demonstration of woodworking skills.

DO YOU QUALIFY? To be eligible to support this opportunity, volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, complete the long-term volunteer onboarding qualifications, and receive an eligible background check. Click here to complete your long-term volunteer onboarding qualifications.
