Bluebird Monitoring - Volunteer Training

Thank you for your interest in supporting our Bluebird Monitoring volunteer opportunities. Monitoring eastern bluebird nest boxes helps track local population trends, understand how bluebirds respond to environmental changes, increase available nesting sites, and offers a meaningful way to connect with wildlife in our parks. Volunteers check nest boxes throughout the nesting season (March–August), record observations on a data form, remove old nesting material, and use basic bird ID and attention to detail. Individuals or teams can sign up for a month and complete 2–6 independent check-ins during that time.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE? This opportunity is open to individuals, families, long-term volunteers, ages 18 and up, who have completed their volunteer onboarding qualifications (Volunteer Handbook Signature, Completed Volunteer Profile), and an eligible background check.
