Volunteers are needed for this year's Small Farm & Food Fest on Saturday, August 1st!

Small Farm & Food Fest is a free, all-ages event, promoting healthy eating and sustainable living with dozens of hands-on activities, a pop-up farmers market, demonstrations, speakers with educational sessions, and even wagon rides. This Carriage Hill MetroPark event is a mix of modern-day and historical farming, gardening, homesteading, and food preparation information. More information on the event can be found here.
Come out to support the farm, learn how to live a little more sustainably, and have some fun as a volunteer with this year's Small Farm & Food Fest, a whole day dedicated to eating healthy, small farms, hobby farming, and homesteading skills! Educational talks on a variety of subjects will be held throughout the day at the Carriage Hill MetroPark Visitor Center. Shopping is available for locally-made goods and produce in the outdoor farmer’s market. Demonstrations will be conducted throughout the day on skills such as canning, milling, and gardening. If you get hungry, there will be a variety of food trucks, and don't forget to check out the vendors for some wonderful products.
Opportunities are varied and available throughout the day. Some require historic clothing and qualifications while others do not. Check the opportunity listing for any requirements and to view available shifts.
Events like this are successful thanks to the many volunteers who support the children's activities, hands-on demonstrations, informational booths, vendor support, and ambassadors.
