TVT Challenge - Aid Station - Hopewell Trailhead Parking lot
Be a part of the Annual TVT Challenge! This is a fun, non-competitive hiking endurance event. Various routes will be marked for 1-to-27-mile hiking options along the Twin Valley Trail. Participants set out to see how far they can hike in a day! Volunteers will be monitoring stations along the trail, providing refreshments, acting as a safety checkpoint, and assisting participants who need staff support or a ride back to the starting point.
Impact
Volunteers help build access, comfort, convenience, and safety into our programs for participants. They enable more individualized support for first-time participants and help create excitement and energy at outdoor recreation events. Volunteers help people make a stronger connection to nature by making it easy to experience the outdoors in fun activities.
Tasks
- Communicate effectively & courteously with staff, volunteers & participants.
- Follow instructions, and work as a team with other volunteers or staff.
- Keep the Aid Station Stocked.
- Cheer Hikers on as they come through the station.
- Make staff aware of any issues hikers note on the trail
- Observe hikers and make staff aware of any potential health concerns.
- Assist with questions regarding MetroParks.
- A positive, cheerful attitude

- Please arrive early, 15 minutes, before your shift. This allows parking, getting to your station, getting oriented to all the logistics for the event, and reviewing materials and resources.
- Bring a chair for yourself to sit in as you wait for the participants.
- The location is based outside at trailhead and will be at a shelter.
