Join us to deck the halls for Aullwood's Winter Luminary Walk! The glow of the season is almost here - and we need your help to make it magical! We're inviting volunteers to help decorate the historic Aull House and surrounding gardens in preparation for the annual Aullwood Winter Luminary Walk. This cherished event brings warmth and wonder to our community, and your creativity and helping hands will make all the difference.

Volunteers like YOU are an essential part of MetroParks' programs and events. Special Event volunteers ensure that events and large-scale programs run smoothly and safely. Your participation helps make events like this one possible.
Tasks
- Volunteers will assist staff at Aullwood Gardens in preparing “natural” wreaths, and swags and decorating planters for the winter Luminary Walk. Some prepared examples will be on hand to use as patterns.
- Help set up boxes outside the screen porch and decorate with greens.
- Assist with any final touches such as decorating and tidying the Aull House.

- This opportunity is open to the following volunteers: Long-Term, Short-Term, Public Service, Youth (ages 14-17—see specific age requirements below), and/or Groups. Learn more about our types of service here.
- Background Check: We do not require a background check for our public volunteer opportunities; however, persons with a criminal record may be disqualified and prohibited from service. Additional Notes
- Parking & Meeting Instructions: Park in the lot at 930 Aullwood Road, and check in at the Aull House garage. Arrive 10 minutes before your shift to receive instructions.
- Cancelation: If you need to cancel your shift at the last minute or are running late, please contact the staff lead, Beth Langford, at 937-718-5658.
- Environment and Physical Demands: Volunteers should be prepared to walk and stand for extended periods. Some lifting and carrying of materials, reaching, bending, and stretching should be expected.
- Dress: Please wear your blue or green volunteer t-shirt, if you have one. Reusable volunteer vests and nametags will be provided for you onsite. Dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes.
