Tree Tube Removal - Great Miami Wetland Mitigation Bank 2026  Get Connected Icon

Description

Spanning 360 acres of restored wetlands and prairie, the Great Miami Mitigation Bank, located at Spring Run Conservation Area, is Ohio’s first wetland and stream mitigation bank owned, designed, and managed by a conservation agency. Beyond providing critical habitat for native wildlife, the site also supports regional conservation efforts by funding wetland restoration through the sale of mitigation credits.

Volunteers are needed to assist staff with reforestation area maintenance by removing discarded piles of tree tubes.

Impact

Protecting open space and natural areas is a priority for Five Rivers MetroParks, which protects nearly 16,000 acres of land — 90 percent of it in its natural state. Conservation volunteers are a part of our regional conservation story by assisting in implementing a variety of natural area management plans.
