Master Recycler: First Friday Concert Support  Get Connected Icon

Description

Support our waste-free initiative this summer! Master Recyclers are needed to help support First Friday concerts at RiverScape. Master Recyclers assist with educating the public, managing waste stations, and setting up and tearing down waste stations.

Impact

Help support our natural spaces by keeping waste out of the parks and teaching others how to do so! Master Recycler volunteers build awareness of Five Rivers MetroParks' role in sustainable living and practices to community members while supporting our Waste Free Initiative. 

Tasks

  • Share information with concertgoers on recycling, composting, and other sustainability topics.

  • Assist the participants with properly disposing of waste materials.

  • Assist with set-up and tear-down of materials, including master recycler handouts, bins, and other small materials. 

  • Provide excellent customer service to park patrons, including wayfinding of water fountains, restrooms, etc. as needed.

Additional Notes

  • Environment & Physical Demands: ​​Light physical duties include standing, walking, and light lifting to help set up and tear down waste collection areas.

  • Parking & Meeting Instructions: Parking is available at the Five Rivers MetroParks Main Office at 409 East Monument Ave, Dayton, OH 45402 with a volunteer car hang tag. Please plan to arrive 10- 15 minutes before your shift to allow for parking, walking to Riverscape MetroPark, checking in, and connecting with your Staff Lead. 

  • Dress: Please wear your volunteer nametag and volunteer t-shirt or a reusable volunteer vest. This identifies you as a volunteer to staff and the public.  If you need any of these items, please contact Volunteer Services at volunteer.services@metroparks.org or call #937-275-7275.
