Five Rivers MetroParks and Wright State University are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help at The Adventure Summit. Opportunities are available for just about everyone. The only requirement is that you are willing to have a great time while being immersed in outdoor culture. Five Rivers MetroParks Marketing staff need help distributing marketing materials and giveaways for MetroParks.
Marketing Booth Support volunteers work alongside staff at the Marketing Booth to share information about Five Rivers MetroParks and help promote the organization and its offerings. Volunteers will leave knowing they have promoted an active, healthy lifestyle in the region and have contributed to making Dayton “The Adventure Capital of the Midwest!”
Tasks
- Help Marketing Staff Distribute informational materials and answer questions about Five Rivers MetroParks facilities, events, and programs.
- Assist staff in refilling marketing materials and maintaining a tidy and organized booth space.
- Temporarily run booth so that staff can take breaks and walk the event for photo opportunities.
- Help distribute giveaway prizes.
- Enjoy the event!
Eligibility
- This opportunity is open to Long-Term and Short-Term volunteers. Learn more about our types of service here.
- Volunteers with extended knowledge about Five Rivers MetroParks are preferred, but all are welcome.
- Youth volunteers ages 14-17 are not required to complete a background check. If you are a new youth volunteer contact volunteer.services@metroparks.org to have your background check waived.
Additional Notes
- Environment and Physical Demands: This volunteer opportunity is indoors and may require sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Some bending and lifting may be required.
- Parking and Meeting Instructions: Parking is available in the Visitor and Student Union lots at Wright State University at 3640 Colonel Glenn Hwy, Fairborn, OH 45324. Please arrive 15 minutes early to park and get checked in.
- Dress: Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. A volunteer nametag and volunteer safety vest are required and will be supplied at the event.
