The Trail Guide Training is only open to those current Carriage Hill Riding Center volunteers who have completed 20 hours of service as a Barn Aide. Must be age 16 or older. Trail Guide volunteers assist staff by grooming and saddling the horses and helping customers get on and off their horses. Some volunteers may also ride along the trail giving instructions, keeping a watch on spacing and behavior, and answering questions to ensure each participant has a safe and engaging experience.
For training, volunteers are asked to complete a virtual training, and then attend an onsite training at the Carriage Hill Riding Center. Returning Carriage Hill Riding Center Trail Guides are strongly encouraged, but not required to attend the training on an annual basis.
