Deer Team Leaders Meeting – Post-Season

Tentative Agenda Items:
Changes to Team Leader hour requirement
- Averaged how many hours each of you recorded for the past season, On average the team leaders have 20 volunteer hours right now. 6 team leader volunteers are either close to 30 hours or have met it
- We reconsidered hour expectations and reduced, now there is a 30 hour requirement for Team Leaders, with expectation to attend team leader meetings if available

Re-cap of harvest results
- 142 deer harvested, 18 non-recoveries, 89% recovery rate
- Considering the last 2 years were record harvest, 142 is comparable to average (2019-2020 141 deer harvested)
- Hours/hunter and deer surveys are taken into account as well when determining harvest quotas

- Software is not developed enough to fit our needs
- Will continue to explore other options to make the program more stream lined.
Next Season
- Plan to have an interactive map link – orange flagging still needed to mark boundaries
- Record tree stand/blind locations – TBD, I would like this info for safety reasons but I still need to figure out a good way to collect it
- Website – will be updated in 1-2 months
- Registration: June 22 – July 14, 2023
- Preference for volunteers and 7 from waitlist
- No preference for youth in registration (preference given in lottery for locations)
- Qualification lottery – posted ~July 20th
- Qualifications – Aug 3, 5, 10, 12, Blind dates TBD
- Lottery for hunting areas
- Waitlist drawn with volunteers and youth?

Remove hunter flagging and tree tacks
