Ambassador with Five Rivers MetroParks! Volunteers like you are often the first friendly faces that greet visitors when they arrive at Cox Arboretum and Carriage Hill MetroParks.
In this role, you will welcome visitors, direct them to restrooms and water, and share with them all the exciting things they can see and experience in the park, including new blooms, park features, and upcoming programs and events. You can also share the importance of volunteers to our parks and help us recruit our next volunteers. This is truly an engaging opportunity for those who like to connect with others!
If this sounds like a good fit for you, join us for this in-person training to learn more, meet your staff lead, and get started as a Visitor Center Ambassador. This training will be held at Cox Arboretum MetroPark, inside the visitor center, in the Fifth Third Conference Room on Saturday, August 22nd from 9am-11am.
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?
This opportunity is open to individual, long-term volunteers, ages 16 and up who have completed their volunteer onboarding qualifications (Volunteer Handbook Signature, Completed Volunteer Profile), and for those 18 and up, an eligible background check. WHAT TO EXPECT & WHAT YOU'LL REVIEW
Training will cover information on both Carriage Hill and Cox Arboretum, so volunteers can choose the location they'd like to volunteer at, no matter the location of the training. The training will provide an orientation to the workspace, as well as an overview of frequently asked questions, and what resources are available to the volunteer to aid in their ambassador duties. Ambassadors only need to come to an in-person training once.
