WHAT TO EXPECT & WHAT YOU'LL REVIEW
This training is for long-term volunteers, ages 14 and up, who have qualified as Barn Aides
Pony Ride volunteers assist staff in providing a safe, fun, and friendly pony ride experience for young riders ages ages 2 - 8 at the Carriage Hill Riding Center.
Volunteers hand-lead the ponies or act as a spotter while the children ride. Volunteers are the extra set of eyes, ears, and hands that ensure each participant has a safe and engaging experience.
For training, volunteers are asked to complete a virtual training and then attend an onsite training at the Carriage Hill Riding Center.
This training includes both classroom and field components:
- Physical Requirements: Volunteers should be prepared to squat, kneel, bend, carry 10-15 lbs., and work in various weather conditions.
- Protective Gear: Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. No steel-toed boots please.
- Weather-appropriate Attire: Please dress for the weather.
