Calling all birders or the birding curious volunteers! Join us to learn about the NEW MetroParks' Birding Challenge set to debut in March 2025 and provide feedback on developing challenge components. ALL current and active volunteers are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.
Agenda
- Overview of the proposed Birding Challenge: Volunteers will be sent the abstract for the proposed challenge to review. Items will include the launch timeframe, objectives of the Challenge, key messages, and who the challenge is designed to engage. Discussion and feedback will be requested from those participating.
- Proposed Challenge Tasks: Volunteers will review the proposed challenge tasks and the structure for setting up the Birding Challenge.
- Open Conversation on the Proposed Birding Challenge: Volunteers will identify components that excited them and make them want to participate, tasks that appear too complicated, confusing, or potentially boring items, any barriers they foresee in the challenge ( i.e. mobility, technology, financial, accessibility.
ALL current and active volunteers are encouraged to attend! Volunteers who are experienced birders, new birders, and those who love nature and are interested in discovering new activities, should all consider attending.

Dress: Please wear your MetroParks volunteer name badge and t-shirt if you have one.
Parking Instructions: This training is being offered in-person at our Cox Arboretum MetroPark located at 6733 Springboro Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45449. Parking is available in front of the visitor center.
Once you enter the building, you'll go to the right and check in at our welcome station.
