Try Volunteering with Tatum

Hi everyone, my name is Tatum Buhiru, and this is the first of many blog posts that I will write detailing my experiences volunteering for Five Rivers MetroParks. I'm a junior business analytics major attending Miami University, but I've always been interested in doing something to protect the environment. I'm hoping that my time here this summer will be of use to the organization and the community as a whole.

Most of my work will be done in the office to assist in making the lives of the staff easier and help make things run smoothly, but I'll also be exploring a variety of volunteer opportunities offered by Five Rivers MetroParks. Each week, I will be participating in a volunteering opportunity and sharing my experiences here! I'm excited to participate in a lot of programs over the summer, but I'm especially excited to garden because I love plants, and this could help me learn how to keep my plants alive for more than two days.

I'm hoping that writing about my involvement with events like this will inspire others to try some volunteering opportunities offered by Five Rivers MetroParks and play a more active role in their communities.
