Get Connected Tech Tip:

Checking in to Your Volunteer Shifts & Adding Hours

Documenting your volunteer hours is important, and the check-in process makes it easy. Here are a few ways you can check-in to your volunteer shifts:

1. **Check-In via Email**: For most opportunities, you'll receive a check-in email on the morning of your volunteer shift. You can easily check-in while having breakfast at home or sitting in your car before you head into your volunteer service.

2. **Mobile App**: You can download our free mobile app, Causer, and easily check-in to your volunteer shifts using the app on your smartphone.

3. **Kiosk**: When volunteering at Carriage Hill MetroPark or Cox Arboretum MetroPark, you can easily check-in using our Get Connected Kiosk located in the visitor centers and the barn at the Carriage Hill Riding Center.

Forget to check-in to a shift? No problem! You can "Add Hours" any time to any opportunity you have responded to even after the volunteer shift. Remember, there's no need to check-out of your volunteer shifts unless you serve 15 minutes more or less than the scheduled shift. The site is programmed to automatically add the scheduled volunteer hours for each opportunity to your volunteer account with check-in.

Volunteer Services is here to help you become more familiar and more comfortable using the Get Connected volunteer site. We can help you learn more about the site, find training opportunities, complete qualifications and find the right volunteer opportunities for you!
