Volunteer Services strives to provide high-quality, meaningful volunteer opportunities that support the agency’s mission, inspiring residents throughout the Miami Valley to become citizen advocates of Five Rivers MetroParks.
Five Rivers MetroParks provides an array of outdoor events and large programs throughout the year for residents of the Miami Valley to get connected to recreation, music, history, family, and most of all nature. Special Event volunteers serve a critical role in ensuring that each special event or large-scale program runs smoothly from set-up to tear down.
Volunteers from a variety of volunteer positions support our special events including Park Maintenance, Conservation, Programming, and Ambassadors. In addition to these long-term volunteers, single-day or episodic volunteers are also recruited to ensure we have enough eyes, ears, and helping hands to make each event safe and friendly for our many visitors.
Entry-level Volunteers are accepted with a goal to develop the skills listed. Some skills may require additional training and annual check-off.
Volunteers with the following skills and interests may be a good fit for this position:
- Those with skills and knowledge in customer service, small tools and equipment, and physical labor.
- Volunteers interested in community outreach, customer service, events, outdoor recreation, sustainability, and youth & families.
